1. Johannes KRAMER was born before 1780 in Goldlauter, Saxony, Germany (Prussia). The Parish Registers of Goldlauter and Heidersback, Saxony, Prussia 1600-1840 (LDS film #0823874) indicate that he was a part owner of middle mill in 1802, and that he was a "baker of Wheaten bread" in 1820.
He was married to Christiana Magdalen HERMANN (daughter of Johann George HERMANN) on September 22, 1801 in Goldlauter, Germany. Christiana Magdalen HERMANN was born before 1780 in Herges/Hollenbach, Saxony, Prussia (?). She died in 1841. Johannes KRAMER and Christiana Magdalen HERMANN had the following children:

9. Unknown KRAMER was born about 1818.
10. Henriette Wilhelmine KRAMER was born on 6 Feb 1820 in Goldlauter, Saxony, Germany (Prussia). She was married to T.A. SCHICKEDANZ. Ferdinand KRAMER received letters from his sister in 1886 and 1889 from Riga, Latvia, where they are thought to have resided.
11. Gustav Wilhelm Bernard KRAMER was born November 18, 1822 in Goldlauter. A Bernard CRAMER appeared on the 1880 census in San Francisco, California with his wife Philapena (born about 1842 in Baden, Germany), and is believed to be the same person.
Ferdinand and Lauretta (WEIß)KRAMER Family
Ferdinand KRAMER, son of Johannes and Christiana (Hermann)KRAMER, was born May 29, 1810 in Goldlauter, Saxony, Germany (Prussia). He was a Mill owner in 1839. He was a Baker in 1851. He married Lauretta Ernestine Friederike WEISS (WEIß), daughter of Amelius WEIß and Anna Katharina WEIß, on November 10, 1839 in Goldlauter. Lauretta was born November 7, 1820 in Goldlauter. Their family emigrated on May 9, 1851 from Hamberg to New York on the Gutenberg. The Gutenberg was built by Hans Jacob Albrecht Meyer, for Hamburg shipowner Robert Miles Sloman, in 1848. It regularly sailed the Hamburg-New York route. She ran aground and became a total loss on Goodwin Sands, on December 31, 1860. The KRAMERS arrived in New York on July 1, 1851.
Ferdinand KRAMER received permission from the Prussian Government to emigrate to the United States, recorded in a document that reads "The undersigned Royal Government, acting upon his petition to emigrate to the United States of North America, confirms herewith that the miller, Ferdinand Kramer of Goldlauter in the district of Schleussingen, is given permission to give up his status as a Prussian subject together with his wife, Fiederike Lauretta Ernestine, nee Weiss, as well as their under-age children, Siegfried August Kramer, born December 8th, 1841 Susanna Dorothea Kramer, born July 1, 1843 Erwin Dagobert Kramer, born May 11, 1845. This discharge document, affirming the loss of their Prussia citizenship, applies only to the specifically named persons. It becomes effective on the day on which it is handed to the applicant. City of Erfurt, March 27th, 1851. The permit becomes effective on this day. City of Goldlauter, May 9, 1851."
Ferdinand KRAMER and his family appeared on the 1860, 1870 and 1880 census in Dayton, Webster Co., Iowa. He signed a will on May 4, 1887 in Dayton, which reads: "In the name of God. Amen: I Ferdinand Kramer of the township of Dayton, County of Webster, State of Iowa, of the age of Seventy dix years, and being of sound mind and memory, do make publish and declare this my last will and testament, in manner following, that is to say:
First: I give from my estate to my beloved wife Fredericka Lauretta E. Kramer an annuity of One Hundred Dollars payable to her in quarterly payments on the first days of January, April, July and Oct., in each and every year during her natural life. This annuity is to be a lien upon all my real estate so long a she may live.
Second: I give and bequeath to my son Seigfred August Kramer One Hundred and Fifty Dollars to be paid from my estate with six percent interest within five years from my death. I give and bequeath to my daughter Susan Dorotha Anderson One Hundred and Fifty Dollars, to be paid from my estate with six percent interest within five years from my death. I give and bequeath to the heirs of my son Albie Dagobert Kramer One Hundred and fifty Dollars, to be paid from my estate with six percent interest within five years from my death. I give and bequeath to the heirs of my daughter Emma Louisa Glanzman One Hundred and Fifty Dollars, to be paid from my estate with six percent interest within five years from my death.
Third: On condition of his carrying out the provisions of this my last will and testament, and paying all and several, to my said legatees the sums named herein in the manner and at the times specified. I give and devise to my son Henry Ernest Kramer all my real estate consisting of the following tracts of land to have and to hold the said promises to the said Henry Ernest Kramer and to his heirs forever towit: The west half (1/2) of the South west quarter (1/4) The south east quarter (1/4) of the south west quarter (1/4) and the South west quarter of the North west quarter, all in section eight (8) Township eighty six (86) Range twenty seven (27) West of the 5th P.M. Iowa. Also the West half (1/2) of the North East quarter (1/4) of the North west quarter (1/4) of the North east quarter of section eighteen (18) Township eighty six (86) Range twenty seven (27), west of the 5th P.M. Iowa. Also Lot one (1) of Lot four (4) in section two (2) Township eighty six (86) Range twenty seven (27) west of the 5th P.M. Iowa. In all one Hundred and seventy one (171) acres. Together with all the heriditments and appurtenances thereto belonging or in any wise appertaining.
Fourth: I hereby constitute and appoint my son Henry Ernest Kramer my sole executor of this my last will and testament, hereby revoking all other wills by me made. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and signature this fourth day of May (1887) in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Eighty Seven. (signed) Ferdinand Kramer
Ferdinand KRAMER died on January 26, 1890 in Dayton, Webster Co., Iowa, and was buried in Dayton Cemetery. Lauretta died on July 30, 1889 in Dayton, Webster Co., Iowa, and was buried in Dayton Cemetery.
