Etta GLANZMAN

Benedict and Emma Louisa (Kramer) GLANZMAN
Benedict GLANZMAN was born on 26 May 1839 in Oberburg, Canton Bern, Switzerland.
Translation): "Sonday, 9th June 1839
(was bapt.), a legitimate Benedicht, born 26th May Son of Hans
Ulrich Glantzmann, Peter's son, from Hasle (Adresse) on the
Zimmerberg, and Anna Loffel (the mother of the child) from
Oberburg. god-parent: Bendicht Glantzmann, the brother of the
father, Bendicht Glauser from Rueti, Elizabeth Schertenleib,
from Krauchthal, born Glantzmann, the sister of the father."
He emigrated from Switzerland in 1867, and lived for some time in Boonesboro, Iowa. Five years later, on March 17, 1872, he was married to Emma Louisa KRAMER, daughter of Ferdinand KRAMER and Lauretta Ernestine Friederike WEISS (WEIß). They settled on on a farm 2 1/2 miles NE of Dayton, Iowa. Emma Louisa KRAMER was born on June 14, 1852 in Illinois. She died on October 30, 1885 in Dayton, Iowa, at the age of 33, and was buried in Dayton Cemetery. Benedict never remarried, living near Dayton until March 1896, when he auctioned his farm and many of his belongings, and moved to Idaho Falls, Idaho.

Notice: Public Sale Having sold my farm and as I am obliged to give immediate posession, I will offer at public auction at my place 2 1/2 miles NE of Dayton, the following described property on Friday, March 20, '96. Stock: 4 work horses, 1 horse coming two year old and two colts coming 1 year old. 11 cows, high grade Durham, and 4 head of 1 and 2 year olds. 40 head of shoats. Also lots of chickens. Farm implements, etc.: 2 wagons, spring buggy, 3 cultivators, harrow, sulkey plow, feed grinder, hand corn sheller, grind stone, hay rake, corn planted, 2 hay racks, seeder, a lot of seed corn and other articles not mentioned. Terms: 11 months time will be given on approved notes of $5 or over without interest if paid when due; if not so paid, 8% interest from date, sums under $5 cash. 8% discount for cash. B. Glanzman
Benedict GLANZMAN was reared in the Dutch Reform Church. In America, he became member of German Evangelistic Association. He died on July 23, 1900 in Idaho Falls, Bingham Co., Idaho, and was buried at Rose Hill Cemetery, in Idaho Falls. His estate was probated on May 17, 1904 in Bingham County, Idaho. His assets were listed as "The South half of Section No. Three (3), the North half of the North West Quarter of Section No. ten (10) and the North East Quarter of the North East Quarter of Section No. nine (9) all in Township No. one (1) south of Range No. Thirty eight (38) East of Boise Meridian, in Idaho, all improved and of the value of Eight thousand and eight hundred ($8800.00.) Dollars, also nine horses and two colts, eight milkcows, sixteen head of young cattle, six head of stock hogs, about two thousand bushels of wheat and a lot of farm machinery, all of the value of Thirteen hundred (1300.00.) Dollars."

1. Anna Marie GLANZMAN was born on December 30, 1872 in Dayton, Webster Co., Iowa. She died February 7, 1955 in Los Angeles, California. She was married to H.J. KNOWLES on January 18, 1905 in Idaho Falls, Idaho.
2. Augusta GLANZMAN was born on February 18, 1874 in Dayton, Webster Co., Iowa. She died on June 4, 1936 in Idaho Falls, and is buried in Rose Hill Cemetery.

4. Henry GLANZMAN was born on October 23, 1876 in Dayton, Webster Co., Iowa. He died on April 11,1933, and was buried after in Hanford, Washington, at White Bluffs Cemetery. Graves formerly at White Bluffs on the Hanford Project, were moved to Prosser, Benton County, Washington, on May 6, 1943, to the West Prosser IOOF Cemetery. Henry was married to Julia Louisa CURTIS, daughter of Royal Joseph CURTIS and Achsoh RHODES, on March 22, 1904 in Boise, Idaho. Julia CURTIS was born November 3, 1864 in Canton, Illinois. She died on June 19, 1954 in Spokane, Washington, and was buried in Pines Cemetery, in Spokane.
5. Otto GLANZMAN was born on May 26, 1878 in Dayton, Webster Co., Iowa. He died on March 19, 1914, just one week after his brother John was buried, in Blackfoot, Bingham Co., Idaho, at the Idaho Insane Asylum, the cause of death listed as progressive paralysis, with dementia.
6. William Ernest GLANZMAN was born on March 18, 1880 in Dayton, Webster Co., Iowa. He died on September 5, 1940 in Idaho Falls, and was buried in Idaho Falls, in Fielding Memorial Cemetery, south of Idaho Falls. He was married to Ida JEFFRIES on December 19, 1906, in Waverly, Nebraska. Ida JEFFRIES was born on April 25, 1881, in Waverly, Nebraska. She died on March 29, 1962 in Homedale, Idaho, and was buried in Fielding Memorial Cemetery.
7. Charles Ferdinand GLANZMAN was born on March 18, 1880 in Dayton, Webster Co., Iowa. He was married to Ida Elizabeth "Bess" MARTIN, daughter of John William MARTIN and Rosina MCORILLIS, on June 16, 1910 in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Bess MARTIN was born on April 25, 1881 in Mondale, Iowa. She died on April 19, 1968 in Idaho Falls. She was buried in Fielding Memorial Cemetery. Charles died on May 20, 1951 in Idaho Falls, and was buried in Fielding Memorial Cemetery.
8. John Alvin GLANZMAN was born April 20, 1882 in Iowa. He died March 9, 1914 in Idaho Falls. He was buried on March 12, 1914 in Idaho Falls, at Rose Hill Cemetery.
9. Wilhemina Margaret GLANZMAN was born November 15, 1884 in Iowa. She died August 1, 1951 in Alameda Co., California. She was married to Russell CROWELL on November 26, 1903 in Idaho Falls. She later married Peter J. ANDERSON.

Johanna Henrietta GLANZMAN was born March 20, 1875 in Dayton, Webster Co., Iowa. She was married to Charles William ALEXANDER, son of Russell B. ALEXANDER and Cedelia D. BLOOMER, on May 11, 1909 in Idaho Falls. She died on 20 Feb 1931 in Silverton, Marion Co., Oregon, and was buried in Green Mt. Cemetery.
